Memphis Center for Independent Living (MCIL) is excited to announce "Rolling for INDEPENDENCE". This fundraising event will highlight new bike lanes on Madison Avenue.
MCIL was one of the groups instrumental in helping with design, public hearings and advocacy efforts for this addition to our Midtown neighborhood!!
MCIL has a 26 year history of advocacy for people with disabilities in Memphis, working for equality and accessibility for everyone.
This event offers an opportunity for wheelers and rollers of all types to join together for this family friendly celebration and thank MCIL for training, educating and advocating for accessible communities where everyone is welcome!
Rolling for Independence will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2013 beginning at 8:00 a.m. for registration. The event starts at 9:30 a.m. for individuals doing 20 miles or more around the route and 10:00 a.m. for individuals riding the 2.5 mile route or more around the route. We will have a DJ "Fresh", who will be playing all types of music for the event. Lunch and awards will start at Noon at MCIL's offices, which is at 1633 Madison Avenue.
Registration forms and information may be obtained by selecting documents, at MCIL office or through other local organizations.
Please note on donation for Rolling and if registration fee, sponsorship or donation. Thank you very much for your support of MCIL!
